This large rectangular pillbox stands protecting the road bridge under the main London to Bournemouth railway at Blackhorse Rd, Woking, despite being partially overgrown the structure looks in excellent condition and has three facing south west facing embrasures which cover the road approach to the tunnel.

The bullet proof pillbox was constructed using red brick shuttering with its embrasures made from separate concrete castings, the rear entrance is protected by a half height L blastwall.

I believe the defence was manned by men from the Southern Railway LDV/Home Guard who had their headquarters close to Woking main line station.
