San Anastasia Pillboxes

Whilst on the beach one day I spotted what to my untrained eye looked like a pillbox. I went back the next day with my camera and took the attached pictures which I thought may be of interest to PSG members.

It is located on top of a small sand dune overlooking the beach at a place called San Anastasia. This is near a small village called Salto Di Fondi which in turn is about 7km south of the town of Terracina which is in between Rome and Naples. Sorry I haven’t got a clue of the map reference.

I would guess that it was about 8′ – 10′ square but with a triangular extension off to one corner at what I assume is the rear.
